KOSTGard® Heat Transfer Oil

KOSTGard® Heat Transfer Oil is recommended for heat transfer systems requiring a highly stable oil as the heat transfer medium, such as asphalt and residual fuel heating systems.

KOSTGard® Heat Transfer Oil also contains an additive system that is specially designed to resist heat and oxidation, protect the heat transfer oil from breakdown and coking, and to protect heat transfer oil pumps from wear and failure.

KOSTGard® Heat Transfer Oil is specially formulated to provide exceptional protection for hot oil heating systems where the thermal stability of the heat transfer oil is critical to safe, dependable operation. Closed liquid-phase systems should be equipped with expansion tanks and pressure relief valves where maximum bulk oil temperatures do not exceed recommended temperatures. Preventative measures should be taken to minimize oil oxidation by eliminating air from the system prior to bringing fluid to operating temperature. The use of an expansion tank and a positive pressure inert gas such as nitrogen is recommended at all times on the expansion tank. Under no circumstance should the hot oil come in contact with air.
